The Antigo Gridiron Club meeting was called to order by President Joel Nowinsky at 6:35.   The meeting was held at the Schofield Stadium building.  There were 36 members present.  Thanks to all who attended!

FINANCIAL REPORT:  Joan Bauknecht gave the financial report, Don Strobel made a motion to approve, Brad Henricks  seconded.

 

MEET THE ROBINS—Discussed the “Meet The Robins” fundraiser on Thursday, August 21.    There will be food for sale.  The event starts at 5:00 p.m.  Players to be announced and dedication at approximately 6:00. 

 

BUILDING DEDICATION:  The dedication of the new Schofield Stadium Building will also be held at this event. 

 

BUILDING UPDATE:  The North/south asphalt walkway is finished.  The new PA system is being installed.

Meeting room plaque, donor, and assistant coaches plaque were discussed.  We are waiting for final proof.

The art club will be painting a robin inside the building.

 

30th ANNIVERSARY OF 1978 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP:  Will be held at the homecoming game on October 10.

 

TICKETS: 

$100.00 tickets are for sale with the prizes being 10-$1,000, drawing at homecoming.. 

 

Furniture raffle:  Tickets are  for sale.  On this raffle is the Custom Made Log Outdoor Furniture donated by George McDonald, Antigo Red Robins Sport Quilt made by Joan Bauknecht, a Red Robin Bird House, donated by Gary Kieper, and numerous other prizes.  This drawing will be held at the last home game.  Proceeds on the raffles will go to the new sound system at Schofield Stadium.

 

OTHER MATTERS: 

The old building in the corner by the new building. We would like to remove this building in the corner and eventually move the fence up for more parking.

 

Jayette Leist will be selling food at the JV games.  Need to find out if she can use the new building for the first home game.

 

BUSES:  Don Strobel will again get buses going for the away games:  Northland Pines, Mosinee, Tomahawk.

 

50/50 AT THE HOME GAMES:  There is a sign up sheet for the home games.

 

WEBSITE:  Mary Ponasik will be updating the website, and we hope to have a link so that the out of town Antigo
Fans can listen to the games.

 

SIGNS:  Discussed a new fundraiser, which would be 18” x 24” yard signs, reading “GO RED ROBINS”.  Deb Black made a motion to have 100 signs printed to sell.  Cheryl Mengel seconded the motion.  Don Lewis will order.

 

TAILGATE:  This event will be held September 5, and there is a possibility that there will be a pig donated for this event.

 

Next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, August 26 @ 6:30 at the Schofield Stadium to discuss final plans for the Tailgate party on September 5.

Don Strobel made a motion to adjourn, Ron Maly seconded.
