The Antigo Gridiron Club meeting was called to order by President Joel Nowinsky at 6:45.   The meeting was held at Schofield Stadium. 

 FINANCIAL REPORT:  Joan Bauknecht gave the financial report.   Lynn Mattek made a motion to approve the financial report, Don Strobel seconded the motion.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

CONTACT DAYS:  July 28-31.  The Gridiron Club will sponsor Gatorade for the players and coaches. 

MEET THE ROBINS—Thursday August 20 at Schofield Stadium.  Begins at 5:00 with introduction at 6.  (Friday the team scrimmages at Wausau West)

ANNUAL GRIDIRON TAILGATE:  8/28/09,   4-6:30—Antigo vs Wausau West, in the West Elementary Parking Lot. 

Discussed menus for both events. Matt Shinners and Deb Black will be at the parent meeting to sign up volunteers to help at the events.

TICKETS:  It was decided to have a small raffle for the William Henderson autographed football jersey, the t- shirt quilt, a team autographed helmet, a sweatshirt, and various other items.  $2.00 each and 3 for $5.00.   We will sell tickets up until the last home game against Tomahawk on October 16, 2009

FURTHER DISCUSSION ON PROJECTS:  The old concession stand will be taken by the Antigo Bow Club, the old bathrooms will be knocked down. We are getting a price on moving the fence, and on construction of the new ticket booth. 

DAVE BRANDT FOOTBALL LEAGUE:  Tim Brand and Al Waldvogel, representatives of the Dave Brandt Youth League said that the dummies are very old, and have to be replaced ($119.00 each), also need 50 metal clips, a cart for pylons.   Matt Shinners made a motion that the Club buy 6 dummies, the metal clips, and a cart for pylons.  Lynn Mattek seconded and all were in favor.  They are looking for a popcorn popper to make popcorn at the games.  The league also wants to start earlier and the Gridiron Club will help with advertising for the League.

2009 MEMBERSHIP LETTERS are out.  If anyone hasn’t received one, or you know of someone who is interested, please contact one of the officers, or direct requests to the website, http://www.antigo.k12.wi.us/gridironclub/index.html. 

NEXT MEETING:  The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Schofield Stadium.
