Antigo Grid Iron Club Meeting Minutes Tuesday, July 12, 2011

The Antigo Gridiron Club meeting was called to order by President Ron Maly at 6:30 p.m.   The meeting was held outside at Schofield Stadium.
Treasurer Joan Bauknecht gave the financial report. Gave balances in all accounts including membership, signs, savings, and checking.  The report was approved.

“MEET THE ROBINS”
Don & Dawn Lewis are organizing the event.  Thank you Don and Dawn!
Annual event will be held on August 11.  The event begins at 5:00.   Brickners will be down there before 4:00 to begin the test drive.  Gridiron receives $20.00 for each test drive taken.  Drivers must be 18 with a valid driver license.  This is a great opportunity to contribute with just 5-10 minutes of your time!

After the sports meeting on August 1, some members of the Gridiron Club will have a very short meeting to talk to parents about activities and sign up sheets will be there for  Meet the Robins and other opportunities.  The Gridiron Club needs to keep getting new people involved so that the teams will be supported for many years to come.

End Zone Signs:  These will be put up on August 9, before the meeting, at about 6:00.  We can use a few people to help with this.

Dave Brandt League:  The Dave Brand League, our starter program will be handing out equipment on August 15 for the 6th and 7th grade, and on August 16 for the 4th and 5th grade.  Time is 5:00, and parents will fill out information there.  Please spread the word. 

GATORADE was approved for the contact days, and subs and Gatorade for the Scrimmage.

STADIUM CHAIRS:  Several members were interested in selling hard backed stadium chairs in maroon with the Antigo Red Robin logo on them.  Don Lewis made a motion to order 100.  The motion was seconded by  Don Strobel.  These will be for sale at the “Meet the Robins” event, and throughout the season.

Also for sale are the old football helmets that were replaced with the concussion helmets.  The Gridiron is selling these for $25.00  each, plus shipping.  These will also be for sale at “Meet the Robins”.

MENOMINEE JV & VARSITY:  Will play here on August 26.  The Antigo Gridiron Club will be feeding their JV after their 4:00 game, and will feed their varsity players after the 7:00 game at the high school commons.  Talked about either beef or pork sandwiches, chips, cookies, and milk. 

GOAL POSTS:  Tentative date to put them up is Wednesday, August 3 at around 5:00 p.m.  I will send out an email confirming this on Tuesday.  We will need some help.

Elections:  Officer election was held for 2011-2012.  President is Ron Maly, Vice President is Holly Anderson, Treasurer is Joan Bauknecht.  The secretary position is tabled until the next meeting. 

The next meeting will be held on August 9.  We will be finalizing all plans for the “Meet the Robins” event on Thursday, August 11.  The meeting will be at 6:30 at Schofield Stadium.
